🪡Truly rare and outstanding 1950’s ‘Claire McCardell Pieces’ wool skirt suit done in her signature plaid wool! An American fashion icon, Claire McCardell’s designs were as revolutionary then as they are now timeless.
This early-mid 1950’s suit features plenty of hallmarks from the late designers repertoire - from the earthy check plaid, to the large hip pockets and precise, box-pleated skirt. This ensemble is tailored beautifully. Notice the pattern matching at the mitred edges of the breast darts and winged collar.
The jacket is lined with satin, while the skirt remains unlined.
The skirt has been hemmed - a preference of the original owner, and has a hem allowance of up to 6” should one choose to let it out!
Professionally dry cleaned and ready to wear - excellent condition!
