Vintage 1960’s | Large | Ceil Chapman cotton wiggle dress

It could only be a “Ceil Chapman”! Defined by its expert pleating, draping and overall construction; this early 1960’s wiggle dress is as timeless as it is wearable! Constructed from an imported French cotton with a unique and chic ink blot motif which is of high impact. Upon close inspection you will find the genius which drove Chapman to become a huge success with movie stars and the like. The simple surplice bodice is accentuated by precise pleats which radiate from the left hip up toward the bust line with boned princess seaming for the perfect fit. The slender pencil skirt is elegantly decorated with more pleats and a dainty draped detail at the hip.
This iconic dress from a historic designer is in excellent overall condition, and has been hand laundered. There are a couple small spots on the bodice (pictured) as well as on the skirt. Barely there and potentially removable.

Should you not opt for tracked shipping please be aware that international parcels may take up to several months to arrive and we will not have access to tracking its location or be responsible for any delays.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for. They will likely have general wear and blemishes. We try our best to note any major wear or damages on each garment - although we may sometimes overlook things - which we do apologize for.
Please do not expect all vintage garments to come perfect, unless “MINT CONDITION” has been stated in the description.

Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. Most vintage garments do not have the stretch or give of modern fabrics. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure (twice) a similar garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed.


We cannot offer refunds for fit issues, variances in monitor colors, or buyer’s remorse since these things are out of our control.
